London, England - Arsenal FC put on a dominant performance at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, thrashing Chelsea FC 5-0 in a Premier League clash that saw Kai Havertz score twice for the Blues.
The Gunners, who are currently top of the table, started the game brightly and took the lead through Eddie Nketiah in the 13th minute. Havertz equalized for Chelsea just before half-time, but Arsenal came out strong in the second half and scored four more goals through Bukayo Saka, Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli, and a second from Nketiah.
The win was Arsenal's biggest ever over Chelsea and it takes them 10 points clear at the top of the table. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain in 10th place and are now eight points behind Newcastle United in fourth.
Havertz's goals were his ninth and tenth of the season and he is now the leading scorer for Chelsea in the Premier League. The German international was a constant threat to Arsenal's defense and he was unlucky not to get a hat-trick.
Arsenal's victory was a statement of intent from Mikel Arteta's side. They are now the clear favorites to win the Premier League title and they will be confident of continuing their good form in the coming weeks.
