Bayern controlled the game for large periods and could have added to their lead in the second half. However, they were unable to find a way past Leno again, and Arsenal were left to rue their missed chances.
The win was a major boost for Bayern Munich, who are now one step closer to winning their first Champions League title since 2013. Arsenal, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have exited the competition at this stage, but they can take heart from their performance in the second leg.
