BERLIN, 14092017 – The 750th anniversary of Berlin was celebrated with a series of events in both the eastern and western parts of the city. In East Berlin, the focus was on commemorating the city's history, with a West Berlin camera crew capturing the festivities.
US President Ronald Reagan visited Berlin on September 12, 1987, during the 750th-anniversary celebration. The American musician Bob Dylan performed before an estimated 100,000 people in East Berlin's Treptower Park.
